Welcome to GMP

GMP Contracting Services Ltd established in 1997, and was founded by Mr Gerard Martin Pender who has many years' experience in the electrical contracting field. Over the years GMP have grown from a small home office to a large premises with a professional and efficient team in the Gloucestershire / Worcestershire border, carrying our work Nationwide.

To begin with, GMP were a cable jointing firm carrying out duties for what was then the Midlands Electricity Board. As GMP's reputation grew, we were asked to carry out jointing activities for all of the major Electricity Boards. While GMP were carrying out these activities we were asked if we could branch out into the Civils side of the business, so we began offering a one-stop service to our clients.

Our Services

Our activities have now grown to encompass work in all DNO areas, covering the Civils side of the business, being able to offer LV & HV Sub-Station Installation, excavations, trenchless technology (moling), ducting and cable installations (including winching) plus a full reinstatement package to cover these activities.

We also carry a full service for Highway Street Lighting Furniture to encompass column erection, connections, disconnections and column removals, as well as all of the Civils and reinstatement work alongside. This is done as a one-stop service for our clients.

NERS

In 2012 GMP Contracting Services Ltd decided it was time to take the company in new directions. In order to do this our aim was to gain accreditation to the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS), provided by Lloyds Register.

Within two weeks of our 1st audit and partial accreditation, the 2nd audit took place, and full accreditation was achieved for the applied scopes of work.

In July 2016 GMP CS LTD successfully provided evidence to become an approved SMAS Worksafe Contractor, which also meets the requirements set by the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP). Our approval details are visible to all clients that use the SMAS Portal, and are displayed on the SSIP National Database. HERS

During 2016 GMP Contracting Services Ltd have been working towards being a registered company with the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS), and in October 2016 were successfully accepted for registration covering the following scopes of work;
