Bad service

I recently dropped in a carbon MTB wheel for truing. After 3 days of no contact i called the shop to check on progress...... I was told the mechanic was off work sick but assured the wheel would be looked at the following day and to wait for a call to see what the diagnosis would be...... I waited until 2 pm and called the shop to be told the wheel was 'completely knackered and should be thrown away' ... Apparently the radial true was too great to fix.......?!?! I agreed to collect the wheel that afternoon. Upon collecting the wheel another guy tried to explain that the wheel is clearly cracked in several places and cannot be saved...... I took the opportunuity to quickly check out the workshop but however hard i tried i just couldnt see a truing stand...... Not even a ruler and elastic band......?!? I quickly left, borrowed a mates truing stand and got the wheel to 0.4mm true radial and lateral. Moral of the story - if your not spending £££ on a shiny new steed.. Forget it. And people wonder why the internet is killing our local bike shops....... Disappointed.
