Traumatic Experience

When the Rayleigh branch first opened up my family was probably amongst the first customers. we had a Rottweiler, and two cats at the time. Unfortunately at the ripe age of 7 jazz my rottie had to be euthanised, at such a young age i was distraught leaving my whole unable to say goodbye too because of how ill she was. As years passed we still remained with our two cats, one already being spaded only needing a few bits of dental work. It came to a point where my youngest cat needed an operation, the after care was simplistic yet the necessary procedures. A few years later she developed several lumps under her two front legs (armpits), within a matter of 2 weeks they were protruding and leaking with puss. My family took her down and she need immediate attention, whilst operating they found other unknown problems with her, therefore leading to what should been a inch scar across her chest to be an 8 inch scar across the entire length of her body i was only young at the time but our whole family were truly traumatised in the end we decided we wanted to know what was making her so ill for a drastic scar to be needed and therefore PAID for a biopsy of the lumps. the surgery was in the july she did not heal fully until december therefore distressed with a cone on throughout that time, and in the january she passed away next to me. Still to this day my family no longer know what was physically wrong with her after several blood tests and biopsy's, i am ashamed to have not had to courage to put her out of that misery and euthanised her than to be poked around and be in that amount of pain. This experience was appalling and although was several years ago it is still a constant agony on my family.

Low Price but poor service

Whilst I agree with the other two reviews on the fact that YOUR VETS are cheaper than other vets as I have been going to them for about 7 months now and I too thought that it was a cheaper price but now further down the line you can see why !!!! Most of the staff are very young on the reception with nobody really incharge and also the vets themselves are mostly young which makes you think that perhaps they are not long out of veterinary college. They seem to sometimes get by with temporary vets which some do not take much care of your animal which I have also experienced. The turnaround of vets in this place is very fast which makes you wonder if they are using YOUR VETS as a steeping stone or they do not like the practice themselves. I have had two very unpleasant experiences. One was when we had our dog put down and we complained to which YOUR VETS said that they would put differnt procedures in place because of what we had told them, so we thought that we would give them another go. Second one was our dog needed a c section after they had scanned her minutes earlier and said they saw two puppies and had two heart beats. Whilst she was having a c section did we want her spade, ( we only wanted the one litter with her to keep a puppy and as there was at least two puppies ) we said yes. Turns out she only had one puppy which was dead with a cleft pallet, they went ahead and spade her because they said her uterus was damaged and could be differcult for her to conceive again( did they damage it doing the c section ) You would have thought that as there was NO PUPPIES they would have telephoned us before spading her. Also the way in which the whole thing was handled. I just think that the whole customer care is very poor but perhaps that is what you have to expect if you are not paying so much - but it shouldn't be like that !!!! It seems that other people I speak to who have gone to YOUR VETS all have a story to tell I won't be taking my animals there again now but I wish other people well who do still go there
