This authority allowed a certain gynaecologist named Ian Treharne to be cruel to young female patients. Much of his behaviour was deeply suspect. The time period was from the early 80s until the year 2000 when Treharne was suspended from duty. Totally unacceptable to leave things for so long. Apparently rumours of poor treatment were circulating around the town. The authorities should have taken heed. I didn’t know this and was a student at the University of Essex left utterly traumatised by this dreadful man. I have never really got over it. What a pity that my life should have been marred from such a young age. Too late now - I’m old.
