providing sports and deep tissue massage in the comfort and privacy of the clients home. weather you want to relaxing massage listening to what ever music you like, watching the tv or simply enjoy the silence for some stress relief.
Deep tissue massage. This focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. Movements used are slower and the pressure is deeper, concentrating on areas of tension and pain, in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). When we have chronic tension, we develop adhesions in the muscles, ligaments and tendons. These adhesions restrict the blood flow to the area and also restricts movement, and causes the area to be inflamed. Deep tissue massage works to break down scar tissue and lengthen tight muscles, while working within the client's tolerance level.
This is good for active individuals that take part in regular exercise and sporting events. It is also very beneficial for those who spend long periods sitting at a desk. This works to Increase blood flow to the muscles and improves their functions as well as breaking down scar tissue.
Pre event massage. This is aimed at preparing the body for intense activity. It warms up and loosens the muscles by increasing blood flow, and stimulates the nervous system which in turn, helps the body to prepare and hit peak performance earlier in the event and maintaining it. It also reduces recovery time and helps prevent injuries, which is why you should include this as part of your training programme.
Post event massage. Lactic acid builds up due to intense workouts due to oxygen depletion. Deep strokes flushes out the metabolic waste, reduces time of recovery, enhances the movement of blood to the affected area and reduces muscle fatigue, while assisting with the bodies recovery.
Increases flexibility by stretching, relaxing and encouraging the muscle to go back to its normal relaxed length.
Removes waste products. Muscles burn oxygen and glucose that produce lactic acid which builds up in the muscles causing muscle soreness.
Reduces formation of adhesions through excessive use and wear and tear.
Improves muscle tone. Good healthy muscles are in a constant state of contraction and relaxation.
Reduces cramps.
Improves posture. When we are relaxed, we lengthen the muscles through massage and imrovements to our posture. Poor posture has a negative effect on other systems in the body; such as our ability to expand our lungs when in inhale deeply.
Improve mobility. Increases the production of synovial fluid. When the muscles are warmed up around the joints making them more fluid. This increases the range of motion.
Increase circulation of blood to the bones.
Increases circulation to the areas being massaged and encourages blood flow to the extremities.
Improves venous returns, helping the transport of deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
Lowers blood pressure. When the client in relaxed, the heart rate slows down.
Massaging stimulates the parasympathic nervous system which decreases the rate at which we breathe meaning; we can breathe more deeply. This therefore increases the cellular activity - oxygen for carbon dioxide
Improves the elimination of urine.
Stress can slow down and even stop the digestive system. Massaging the tummy, can stimulate parasympathic nervous system which then switches it back on again. This speeds up the elimination of waste out of the body.
