Fairly cheap pub chain food - nothing exciting on menu. Atmosphere fairly boring. You can eat outside on warmer days.some good offers on wines/beers.Busy at weekends as so central. A good place to meet but not somewhere to impress or have a romantic dinner.Mostly young crowd. I think they now have music whcih is better.

not so good!

This is part of the weatherspoons group of pubs and years back when it first opened was really good but there is certainly a different feel there nowadays. The food and the drink are cheap and the drinks are OK (stick with bottles and you cant go wrong) but the food is awful. I had the mixed grill platter and I have never seen such a state of dried out meat that was just chucked onto the plate without a care in the world and was accompanied by about 8 chips which had seen most of their life under a heat lamp. Friends of mine had the burger and beer offer which is cheap and tempting but you will get some dried out meat that looks worse than a Mcdonalds. Most of the staff seem to be students or something and dont care for where they work and the service and product they are offering, and one last thing the place stinks - especially since the smoking ban, stay away!!

Awful

A typical weather spoons pub which looks nicely decorated and cared for with a nice big city centre beer garden but the food and the service is awful. Prices for drinks are pretty good and there are always plenty of drinks offers on, although drinks like coffee etc are pretty basic. The food is typical cooked, frozen, reheated and sits under a heating lamp. Most of the food I have had here is barely warm, is pretty dry and pretty tasteless, even the staff sometimes appear to be a bit embarrsed to be serving it. Plymouth has plenty of pubs and city centre eating places and everyone of them is worth visiting than this one, which is a shame as the venue is big, airy and well located.

Disappointing

First the drinks, very cheap, wide choice of beers and wine from around the world. Very clean building split over two 3 levels, childrens area and dance area in the evenings. Best place to sit is on the top level looking out of the front window wathcing the world go by. The toilets are usually very clean (except late at night) The downside is the very poor food they serve, as its a chain nearly everything comes prepacked and they just warm it in the microwave. Very uninspiring and really boring. its cheap but not at all worth it, If i had to recommend something - i would go their on Curry nights and have one of those. Large car park behind, £1 per hour, few other pubs and clubs nearby, Its an ok place to go but i expected more.

City Centre location

Cheap as chips place to eat and drink - cuppa 89p but absolutely no frills. Bar staff were really pleasant though and it certainly makes a good place to take your kids if you're in Plymouth and you want somewhere that doesn't break the bank and where they've got room to move around. Watch out for specials and for off peak special offers too. It's located at the end of Union Street however, which isn't a place I would want to walk down with little children, so turn back towards the town when you come out is what I'd recommend.
