Tried to book my cat into Pussy Galore back in February for a stay in September. Paperwork never arrived so I called Mike again. He agreed to resend the paperwork but that never turned up. Now in May he tells me he is fully booked for September. Have been badly let down by him. Don't believe he ever sent the paperwork. Very lapse business man. Have used the cattery before but never again

This used to be an ok cattery before covid. You had to pussyfoot (pun intended) around the owners ego but once you knew that you could deal with him. After covid however he is a changed man!!!!! And now with the energy increases - wow!!!!! Please ask to inspect the cat pen for yourself and I think you will find the heating may not be turned on.

After previous good experiences with Pussy Galore and Mike, it would seem that unfortunately the existence of Covid has impacted Mike's ability to run a business in a professional and courteous manner. Our last (and final) stay in December 2022 suggests that he has lost all of any interpersonal skills he once had, at least when it comes to his customers. Possibly feeling a little embarrassed after insinuating that our cat's vaccination record had been falsified and then realising he'd worn the wrong glasses (surprising for someone who normally has such high standards with regard to recording keeping and paperwork!), Mike relayed his current Covid rules where we were told we could come in to the cattery. We were left dumbfounded at the response to a simple question; We simply asked whether we could install our cat's bedding (in the way she is used to as this gave some peace of mind), however this resulted in Mike barking at us to do it all ourselves whilst he walked off and had what could only be described a tantrum in the corner more befitting a five year-old child. We appreciate that Mike had recent trauma and a sore thumb, this coupled with his caution around Covid we could understand how stressful his time in hospital must have been, especially having to be around so many people! That in combination with medication could possibly have affected his judgement, however, this does not excuse his behaviour and treatment of his clients. Using a cattery is often a last resort for many, you need to be 100% confident that your pet will be as comfortable as possible and in good hands. Whilst we have no evidence that suggests the level of care offered to our cat was anything less than that mandated by LAIA regulations, our time away was marred due to the stress around our cat's well-being as well as having to 'deal' with Mike upon our return. I do hope that Mike manages to resolve his issues and that no one else must endure the infantile behaviour we were subjected to. If you are looking to feel humiliated and are happy for a stressful time away from your pet, then Pussy Galore should be your place of choice otherwise please consider the many alternative options available. Remember you should be dealing with a business, not a charity!
