Anokia restaurant in derby

I enjoyed my time when i went, the enironment is like something else, everyone is dressed so well and it seams very clean. It was a bit expensive then usual and can see they tried to scale for upmarket curry, however the food didnt quite live up to the hype of the way everything else was to be honest as i expected a bit more. Dont get me wrong the food was good however not as nice as i hoped. Its not always about how fancy the restaurant is decorated and the service, if the food doesnt live up to the same then thats what lets it down for me a bit. Overal though worth a try!

Dined at Anoki on several occassions. Sure you are always greeted with a warm welcome and the place has lots of bustling atmosphere.Food is excellent, difficult to fault, the sea food is always incredibly fresh. The down side is the price it is way way way overpriced! A sign of its success I guess.£16.00 for a main course and sundries are equally pricey. Watch out for the price of the drinks too ouch!Go for a special occasion and enjoy

This branch of Anoki used to be Mumbai Blue and is located on the A38 going out of Derby towards Burton-on-Trent. It is very difficult to pull off the main road at this restaurant so please be very careful. The ambience at this restaurant is top class, many mercendes and jag's parked outside in the car park. Anoki has made this a real destination restaurant in the area. We found the tasting menu to be excellent value - popadoms and then a massive collection of indian dishes to share with naans. They also allowed us to take home a doggy bag as there was so much left over

Anoki - london rd derby

This has got to be THE best Indian restaurant in Derby and possibly the whole country. In fact Anoki is recognised as one of the UK's top ten Indian restaurants and restaurants for groups in The Times newspaper. It has a wonderful combination of exquisite Indian food and luxurious surroundings. It was formerly a cinema or theatre and the building reflects this with old Victorian high ceilings. The waiters dress in tradition costume and wear amazing hats with a sort of cocks comb in them and Alladin style slippers with pointed toes in a smart white. the work Anoki in urdu means unique and it certainly lives up to this. The food is exquisite, fine cuisine presented on square or oblong plates in the style of fine dining with little garnishes and decorations.I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is not cheap but it is well worth the price in value.

Easy parking at the back, wonderful and romantic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for that "special Occassion".The waiters are all extremely smart and nothing is too much trouble,Yes the price is a little more expensive than some of the average restaurants around, but I feel that this was well worth the extra.

I have eaten all kinds of cuisines all over the world including the £500 per head restaurant in Dubai located in the amazing Burj-Al-Arab, Gorden Ramsey's Claridges, The Cinanamon club, to name but a few. I have to say the Anoki Indian Restaurant is on par with the one's I have mentioned if not better. Definitely for me Anoki has put a small City like Derby on the map.

The best curry I've tasted

Anoki is a fantastic experience. The setting is spectacular, waiters are dressed in traditional robes and the service is superb. The food is very superb and there is more variety than your typical curry house. The only downside is that it is quite expensive - main courses are double what you would normally pay but overall it is well worth it for a special occasion.
