Fun & exercise in the woods

During their stay at Dunston Lodge Boarding Kennels your dog will be walked twice a day in our own private woodlands adjoining our kennels.

Gourmet pups

We feed your dog the same food as they would get at home. Our kitchen stocks all main brands of dog food, including Pedigree, Hills Science Plan, Burns, James Well-beloved and Bakers Complete. We can also provide fresh meats, chicken and rice etc on request.

Healthy hounds

All dogs in our care are given a full daily health check , with their eyes, ears, bum, tum and back being checked, and cleaned when necessary. Our staff are able to administer any special treatments, as requested.

Clean & happy

All dogs are bathed and groomed during their stay with us in our special grooming room. On the day your dog goes home they will be clean and groomed and ready for that big "welcome home" hug.

Knowing your dog

When your dog first comes to stay at Dunston Lodge Boarding Kennels we will take all your dog's details including their dietary requirements, details of your vet, a contact while you are away, etc. All this information is stored on our customer database for future reference.

Insurance

Your dog is fully insured during their stay with us.

Vet on call

We have the agreement of a veterinary surgeon to be on call 24 hours a day.

A veterinary examination room and isolation block is on site, away from the main building.

Safe & sound

Our boarding kennel facilities and grounds are monitored by closed circuit TV, and security alarms are in operation.

Doggy Chauffeuring

We are able to collect and deliver dogs from anywhere in the UK and locally, including Chesterfield, Sheffield and surrounding areas, so you can rest easy knowing that, after a long journey home, your dog will be brought to you at the arranged time.

Obviously the health and well-being of your dog is our, and your, primary concern during their stay at Dunston Lodge Boarding Kennels. In order to keep a check on and ensure the well-being of dogs in our care:-

When you bring your dog into Dunston Lodge Boarding Kennels we make a note of any medication that you instruct us to give your dog. These instructions are carried out fully and recorded on your dog's daily care sheet.
Our kennel maids give all dogs a full health check every day. Checking, and where necessary cleaning, their eyes, ears, bum, tum and back.
We have the agreement of a veterinary surgeon to be on call 24 hours a day and have a veterinary examination room on site.
Records are kept and you will be fully informed of any irregularities or illnesses during your dogs stay. Our customer database keeps a record of your dog's medical history and details of your vet, any special instructions and details of someone to contact while you are away.
To help protect the health of dogs in our care, all dogs entering our boarding kennels must be up to date with their annual vaccinations, and must also have been vaccinated with Intrac (for Bordetella Bronchiseptica - the common cold for dogs) at least 2 weeks before they arrive.
