If you want local this is it, if you want wonderful food - you've just found it.... If you want that secret something special - Lakeside has got it all.Once upon a time this wonderful couple were the driving force behind another nice spot up on Pentire known locally as the Lew.... And then they disappeared and we feared the magic formula was lost forever. Pouting and sulking broke out across the holiday because we really missed them last year. I'm a true foodie and hate being ripped off for naff meals. Then one day an old pal told me they'd set up for themselves and here they are, right in the centre of Newquay on the Trenance Boating Lake. Perfect for parking, good value and great food . WOW this is exactly what we were looking for and since Bob And Judy left Trenance Tea Rooms, Lakeside the best for cream teas and loads of truly local goodies. Keep up the great work Lakeside team , if it's good enough to be full of locals all year round - You've got a winning formula! Complete with duck food for the locals. Thanks for several lovely meals this year.

Eggs florentine for breakfast – yum - and good coffee to boot. It's recently been taken over, and whilst they are desperately trying to get rid of the old canteen atmosphere, I'm not sure its working just yet. Although the wood and chrome tables and the fresh gerberas definitely brighten it up, as does the slightly eccentric waitress Abby. Great for people watching and duck watching, and a decent snack, but its nothing special just yet. Watch this space perhaps? The attached ice cream hut does delicious ice-cream (although a bit stingy on the scoops depending on whos serving) and sells bags of duck food for 50p. Good for the little ones.
