Avoid!!!

On a busy Sat night we were surprised to get a table just walking in, but were impressed we did (albeit a 1/2hr wait we were told about)...that is where the good part stops. Whilst service is friendly, when we eventually got served the waitress was unable to pronounce, let alone describe the food on the menu. Our starters took over 3/4hr to arrive with nothing to eat whilst we waited. Upon finishing the adequate starter, our main courses arrived (with the childs food arriving 5min after the ours) with the requested rare fillet steak coming well done. Upon informing the waiting staff, her puzzled look made it patently clear she didn't understand that steak could be cooked to varying degrees, at which point she apologised and stated "I'm only 16"!!! They then took the steak away, coming back to tell us they would cook it some more!!!!! After explaining our situation to the manager, she said they would now cook another one, however we were that dismayed by our evening that we decided to leave. Whilst the food quality may or may not have been good (we never really had a chance to see), the service standard was so intolerably low that the experience was a complete let down. If you're going to charge £20 for a fillet steak, you should at least ensure the staff are capable of cooking it. An extremely dissapointing evening, and there are much better value restaurants with similar quality food in Newquay to go to. Avoid!!!
