We have been looking after clients' taxation affairs for over 16 years, with a dedicated team.

The Managing Director, Ruth Rooney, was a fully-trained HM Inspector of Taxes, but left the Revenue to go into the Private Sector, managing the tax department of a local Chartered Accountant until starting her own business in 1996.

Services offered by Many Happy Returns Ltd include completion of Tax Returns and their submission to the Revenue electronically. All Returns are catered for - personal, partnership, trust or corporate. All other aspects of personal and corporate taxation are covered, as well as dealing with Inland Revenue investigations for our clients.

We try and give a personal and friendly service and lead you gently through the maze that is self-assessment. Our staff are fully trained in their field and comply with the standards set by their Professional memberships. Our knowledge is regularly updated by attending training courses throughout the year.

Tax Planning

Whether you are in business - alone or in partnership - living on your pension and investments or running a Limited Company you need to think about the future. Tax Planning should not be your only consideration but you should know the taxation consequences before you take any action which may be irreversible and potentially expensive.

Whilst we are not registered to handle investment and pension work or give advice, we regularly identify the need to make or change. If we see the need for help in this area, we can recommend trustworthy Advisors to give you good advice on how best to make your money work for you.

At the other end of the scale, we can put you in touch with experts to obtain your loan or mortgage.

Preparation of Tax Returns

Take away the stress and let us fill in your Self-Assessment Tax Return. Prices start at £150.00 + VAT for a straight forward return to include the full year's work, including sending your Return electronically.

We also prepare repayment claims for clients who claim back their tax every year. Fees for this tend to be lower than Self Assessment returns.

We have a full spread of clients - Businessmen and women, company directors, employees, infants (up to the age of 18 for tax purposes!) and pensioners.

Preparation of Accounts

We prepare most accounts in-house and this department is run by Belinda, who is a Chartered Accountant.

We often deal with Tax Returns for larger organisations whose accounts are prepared by other accountants such as CABSYS Ltd. Many Happy Returns then prepares all tax computations and negotiates with the Revenue. We also have a very few clients who prepare their own accounts and pass them on to us to do their tax and Tax Returns.

Preparation of accounts is of course necessary for the Inland Revenue, but in my experience, most small to medium businesses are really only interested in how much tax is due. We concentrate on the tax side and will help in negotiations with the Inland Revenue if you have difficulties in payment. Although this can be limited as the Revenue tends to want to peak to you, not us.

Landlords and Buy To Let

Everyone who rents out property must complete a HMRC Tax Return every year. For many people - especially those with one or two properties - this can be a time consuming and fiddly process.
Knowing what you can and can't claim as legitimate expenses is not as obvious as many will tell you - that's where Many Happy Returns can help save you money.
