The Cash Machine

I made a deposit and several days later wanted to not go ahead with the deal.. The son said he would have to speak to his father the owner. A week later his father said it is not refundable, I would loose if I did not make the 2 other months payments or some form of payment towards the tv. They said they would consider a px on my exisitng TV at the end of payment. This happened today 16th Sept 2013, I gave them notice sat 14th sept 13- at the end of my agreement so honoured. £100 payment 14th July 2103 £50 payment by 14th July 2013 £40 by 16th Aug 2013 Full mayment 14th Sept 2013 - or balance - Thats why I came in sat 14th to confirm will bring old telly mon am if thats ok and complete deal. They plugged my TV and said it was faulty I was upset when they said they can;t do the deal and I did sware 1 expletive and he called the police right away and I was told to leave the shop and not be allowed back in and I think this is a ruse to keep the monet. I have written to trading standards and will take this through small claims as a last resort. They at no point offered to return or refund anything. Is this how they do business? They also must have faulty electrics when they test goods since the pixilated words to connect the TV do not happen when my tv is at home and it works perfectly - but I have no recourse. I'm preparing to stand outside the shop on saturday when back home and just mention what shoddy service and the fact they kept my money and gave me no refund or a partial refund and are reselling the TV I have been paying for without discussing a fix to this issue. How many others has this happened to? Every pawnbroker must have terms and conditions of sale - this is LAW.. This is classed as a "Lay away deal" and the shop is entitiled to a small fee BUT this has to be explained UP FRONt and the amount of the fee. Terms and conditions of the "Lay away" need to be produced and be made aware to the buyer. Non of this is in operation and no such procedures exist.
