About

Welcome

Ramillies is a small school set in approximately 8 acres of grounds in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire.

We care for and educate children aged from 6 months to 16 years, offering a degree of continuity rarely found in today's educational system.

We aim to prepare children not just for examinations but for life. A broad curriculum offers a wide range of choices for each child's future and the extra curricular activities we offer also open new avenues.

Our target is to motivate and stimulate each of our pupils so that they can achieve the best possible outcome. Our GCSE results are a testament to this approach.

Foundation Stage

In the Nursery, Pre-School and Early Years Department our experienced and qualified staff provide a stimulating and exciting environment for our youngest children. We take great pride in offering high standards of care, so that parents can be confident their children are well looked after. The atmosphere is secure and purposeful, with lots of praise and encouragement. The staff ratio allows for small groups, so that the emphasis can be on the individual child.

Infant and Junior School

Small classes ensure that all pupils receive an education tailored to bring out and develop their strengths and talents. Considerable care is taken by staff, guided by highly skilled specialists, to prepare activities and offer specific support and pastoral care within the classroom situation. In addition to the usual curriculum we offer some less common subjects, for example brain training games, motor skills sessions, cooking and sewing. Children are also encouraged to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.

Senior School

Our senior pupils have a wide and varied curriculum at Key Stage 3 and GCSE. All subjects are taught by specialist teachers who encourage students to maximise their potential both academically and socially. Teaching groups are small and every student has an individual timetable. e also teach pupils the practical skills they will need after leaving Ramillies, with career advice which covers post-16 education, job and college applications and interview techniques. Although our older pupils are busy with preparations for GCSE, they are encouraged to achieve a balance with extra-curricular activities. The wide range we offer helps everyone to find where their talents lie and gives students an opportunity to pursue interests which will last into adult life. They enjoy a wide range of visits and outings to enhance their learning.
