Some friends and I went to the Crown because we heard it had improved. It had as the food was good and the garden area good. What a shame that a dog was allowed to roam loose in the gardens, the four young men not caring that it was jumping up at tables. I asked the waitress if this was allowed and she in turn got a manager to ask the lads to put it on a lead. That lasted 10 minutes and then they moved to the playground area and let it off again where it urinated in the sandpit. On leaving they shouted comments so they must have been told who had asked them to put the dog on the lead. Disappointing as it spoilt a nice lunch.

This is a true country pub - old building, on the edge of a field with horses in the background, really nice staff and a good range of ales. They do a two course meal for £8.95 (from memory!) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Nice food, but the puddings are not as successful as the starters. Their bread and butter pudding was a bit heavy and stodgy and the apple crumble was average. I've knocked off a star for this. Would highly recommend it though as the atmosphere is great and staff very friendly!
