Welcome to REA Group

Record Electrical Associates Limited was formed in September 2003 to bring together Record Electrical, Townson + Mercer and Whiteleggs. Based at our factory in Stretford, Manchester we market and manufacture quality products, With unquestionable reliability to our accredited BS EN ISO 9001 : 2000 system.
The three divisions combine over three hundred years trading history to the Petrochemical, Marine, Power Generation, Laboratory Environments, Process Plants and Railways.
Record Electrical began trading in 1911 with brand names “RECORD" and “CIRSCALE" becoming well known throughout the world for quality electrical instrumentation.
Townson + Mercer has been trading for over two hundred years offering and supportingTemperature Controlled Baths, Ovens, Ultra Sonic Baths and Furnaces for use within the Laboratory and Process markets.
Whitelegg's has been serving local industries for over thirty years with quality sheet metal Fabrications of all descriptions.

Record Electrical

Formed in 1911, Record Electrical has become a specialist supplier of Analogue Moving Coil and Moving Iron indicators with the "RECORD" and "CIRSCALE" trademark's known worldwide as a symbol of quality and accuracy.
All our indicators are manufactured and calibrated in our Stretford factory to a quality system certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000. Some special indicators have been certified for use in hazardous area applications holding ATEX certification for both intrinsically safe and Type nl areas suitable for field mounting, having IP66 rating, and panel mounting with IP54 rating.
State of the art technology is used in our latest instruments for innovative solutions to difficult applications, one example is the Speedometers being supplied to the new breed of trains indicates not only the actual speed of the train but also sends a duplicate signal to the "On Train Monitor"

Townson and Mercer

Townson & Mercer have been in existence for almost 200 years as a manufacturer and supplier of high quality laboratory equipment.In 1991, the company was acquired by Record Electrical Ltd, and became part of the REA Group, formed to exploit the consolidated group strengths in Laboratory, Electrical Measurement and Indication.
The division manufactures and markets a wide range of ovens, incubators, furnaces, viscosity baths, ultrasonic baths and Dessicator/humidity cabinets. Products are manufactured at our Stretford site under a quality control system accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2000.Working to the most stringent standards, including compliance with new EMC directives and other environmental and safety legislation, the division has a reputation based on T & M successes over two centuries. A special engineering division is involved with turnkey temperature control applications, customising standard units to individual specifications and the manufacture of one-off product designs or specials.
In 2001, T & M became main agents for Sheldon Manufacturing Inc. of the USA, who manufacture a wide range of products for the Life Scientist, under the Shel Lab label.This range includes general purpose, microbiological, cooled, shaking and CO2 Incubators; Hybridisation Ovens; general purpose and shaking water baths; general purpose and vacuum ovens and humidity test chambers.

Whitelegg

The Whitelegg division specialises in sheet metal fabrication and works in stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium and alloys. Apart from a number of Transport, Architectural and General Industrial customers, the Division also manufactures casings and cabinets for the Townson & Mercer Division.
Whitelegg also play a part in our Record Electrical division where they can produce custom cases to suit the wide range of custom instruments made in house.
