Overall after our visit yesterday I rate this place for overall standard's and visitor quality a big fat zero.It is the worst most tired looking concert venue I have ever visited steep ,dangerous steps, steep prices and very shabby should be demolised.

A great place to see anything

Great transport links and a car park. Only as a macdonalds on site there are several others a walk away. Drinks available inside arena, they don't like you taking food and drink in with you. Those available and merchandise are as you would expect on the pricey side. Very versitile. From ice shows, swimming pool(!) pop concerts and musicals. Def worth going. If an afford it stay at the Lowry Hotel as many of the 'stars' often stay there

Average Arena

Service

Quality

Value

A venue built to host popular, well known bands. Obviously a lot of money has been spent to build a venue this big so as expected the sound / acoustics are fantastic and fill the arena. It's also impossible to get a seat where you can't see. My main dislikes against the arena are the stairs leading down to standing level / main seating level from entrance level - it's almost impossible to see the stairs when going down them in the dark - couldn't lights or better reflected strips be put on each step?! The stairs are also fairly steep and you do have to watch your balance (more of a problem when a concert ends and everyone is trying to leave at the same time - pushing occurs). Also I wish the MEN would sell water on the standing floor and not just alcohol. I've seen many people faint through dehydration which could be avoided. Yes you can buy water at the food / drink stalls on entrance level but when you're stood at the stage barrier it's hard to push your way out and it's a fair walk as well!

Big

Service

One of the biggest arenas there is, however big doesn't necessarily mean that it is the best. Don't get me wrong the acoustics are really good and no matter where you sit you always have a decent view of the stage, but I just don't feel that I enjoy the gig that much when I am here. I think it's because it is so big it doesn't have the same effect as it does when you are in a much smaller and intimate venue. Also it's worth knowing that if you are scared of heights then don't get a seat on the top floor because it is very high! Drinks are priced as you expect them to be and there are a lot of toilets available. Overall a great venue but everybody has their preference.

Best arena

Service

Quality

The MEN has got to be the best arena I have ever been too, and I have been to quite a few. The arena is situated in central Manchester and is easily accessible from Victoria station or Piccadilly (with a short walk). The arena itself is huge and hosts hundreds of concerts all year round, but not only is it a music venue but it is used for a whole load of events such as dancing on ice, football, boxing etc. I have been here several times and I have never been disappointed. However be aware that prices are expensive once your inside and the queue for the toilets are about a mile long but I think that its quite understandable when you're at a venue which holds thousands of people.

A very big venue

This is one of the biggest indoor arena's around cheshire and north wales. There has been loads of big names play this arena! This venue is very easy to find, its situated in the victoria train station and theres car parking underneath! Please make sure you do use this as some carparks have been locked when people go back to their cars!It may be more expensive but very worth it.The stage and sound is massive! This is the best sounding venue in manchester!Inside theres around 5bars and lots of different entrances to your seats!its very well signposted! I Would say stand at this arena if you want to get close to the bands,or be very quick at buying you seated tickets to get near the front! This arena is very big and the atmosphere is great, espically when you all sing along!A great venue for live music!

One of the biggest venues in the world

A couple of years ago (and maybe even now) the M E N arena beat New York's Madison Sq. Gardens to the top concert venue in the world in terms of ticket sales.Madonna, Kylie, Bowie, Scissor Sisters, you name it .. have performed here. The venue is spacious, easy to access and the staff are very professional and helpful.
