Terrible tactics

After a tenancy agreement signed with XanderMatthew expired, my partner received a court summons to recover alleged money owed from the expired tenancy. This is after I have already paid for the tenancy upfront. There was no attempt to speak to me about the alleged money owed. Rather, XanderMatthew took action and summoned my partner to court. My partner had nothing to do with the contract. This was unacceptable. In my attempt to resolve the issue, I contacted XanderMatthew by telephone and asked to speak to Jeroen Hoppe, since I signed the contract with him. The staff told me he would call me back. He did not. I tried to speak to other members of staff to resolve the issue. They informed me that only Jeroen Hoppe could deal with the case. I called back the next day and the staff informed me that Jeroen was in court the entire day. It seems like XanderMatthew causes a lot of issues with their clients since the director is in court all day. I phoned back on the third day and a member of staff informed me that Jeroen is on a call and he would call me back after. Jeroen never called. Instead I received a call from a bailiff company, hired by XanderMatthews to retrieve funds, to state that I should only deal with them and not call XanderMatthew. I had no choice but to pay (be bullied out of) almost £1300. This is besides the money pain upfront for the tenancy which was more than £1300. The initial £1000 was increased to £1300 in the 3 days I waited for Jeroen to call me back. XanderMatthew employees told me nothing would happen if I waited for Jeroen to call me back. An extra £300 happened. In the end I had to pay XanderMatthew more than £2600 for a single year tenancy of letting only with no management. Please stay away from this company. The tenant they provided also caused £3000 damage to the floor due to water damage. Awful and costly experience.
