It certainly felt like Midsummer on Wednesday, one of the hottest nights of the year, but the cast didn't need extra magic to make this one of the best productions of this famous play I have seen! So often performed poorly by amateurs, or made ridiculous by directors trying to be "different" it was a joy to experience it in the hands of professionals as it is meant to be performed. No gimics, just an extremely well acted and executed production. There was real chemistry between Oberon and Titania, a delightfully impish Puck, wonderful comedy from the artisan players of Pyramus and Thisbe and very convincing performances by the lovers. On at the delightfully intimate theatre Pentameters until 23rd of August.
