Old style, perfect for a business lunch. For a starter I had Terrine of confit duck and foie gras, prune and Armagnac purée, toasted focaccia which was amazing. My guest had Baked Pithivier of quails' breast and forest mushrooms, with a walnut and apple salad, sherry vinegar dressing. Yum. For my main I liked less, Roasted monkfish tails with baby clams provençale, braised fennel and aubergine crisps - it was a bit heavy. My guest had Pan fried Dover sole with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables (£10.00 supplement. We had a really decent Chardonnay 'Bernard Clones', Sexton, Yarra Valley, Australia 2003. But the wine list is rather expensive and at £48 that was one of the cheaper ones. A la carte is £60 for three course. Exactly how you'd expect it to be, but I wasn't left raving about the place. The service was spot on though, they even have a waiter just to cart the champagne trolley around, so of course, I had to oblige and have some pink champagne.

I came here for a special birthday treat, we even got cab from trafalgar square station to add to the experience. The service was fantastic, so polite, so attentive and very friendly. I thought it would be a bit snobby but it was't really made my birthday feel special. The food was a bit limited we got the lunch time special menue, which was a starter and main meal. The fish option was very limited, i wish they had more of a choice in the starter and the main meal. but the food was cooked well and was very tasty. We then had tea and desert. i had a slice of cheese cake wheich was divine it just melted in my mouth and my sister had the chocolate pastry thing which was lovely too. again there wasnt much to choose from i thought there would have been more of a variety. This is a great place to go for a special occation as it really does add to the day but not a place i would go regulary or even say it was one of my favourites. I suppose if your a meat eater there is much more to choose from. There was a large group of people next to our table and resturant did get very busy even though it was a saturday and it was lunch time (so make sure you book before hand) it was still quiet and relaxing. the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.
