Utterly over-rated

Service

Quality

This place is utterly over-rated, overpriced and disappointing. The cappucino is below average and the place is tiny. You get served by a bunch of nz apes behind the bar with a dumb surfer grin.If you want to soak up the real atmosphere in Soho go to Bar Italia or the adjacent Bar au Marche, where you can find some real local characters!

Great Coffee

Just like little brother Milk Bar this establishment serves excellent coffee whatever your choice may be cappuccino, flat white, macchiato etc.It is a sad state of affairs that nearby Bar Italia serves such 2nd rate coffee leaving the "New World" to show Londoners how it should be!Another example of established 2nd/3rd generation Italian families in London serving food , wine and coffee that shames their country of origin !

I wish I worked in Soho because I'd spend a fair amount of time here. The coffee is great, the staff is lovely - one of them is really quite cute, as well - and it's very cozy and welcoming with lots of seating. Take a look at the door as you walk in - there is a pulley weighted down with three china cups - I thought it was rather sweet and a nice decorative touch.

Yes I was indeed according to my prejudicious memory, only born yesterday for I've never heard of a flat white until… Well let's be honest that we all learn about something new everyday but this particular discovery was totally gratifying for yours truly.I wondered to myself and thought if my Italian friend, Mario from Epsom would ever step in here, I doubt so; he's not the kind who's prepared to acknowledge that the best coffee can and will be made by non Italian baristi. To all the good antipodean folks, I salute you all for this exhilarating beverage. The best coffee there is in Londra, cheers Flat White.

The best damn coffee in Soho

Service

Quality

In case you didn't know:Flat White noun/ Austral flaat whyette/ NZ flet wyte/1. An antipodean style coffee which his served as a strong shot of espresso served in a small cup with textured milk; a damn good strong coffee. It's not just good coffee, it the best damn coffee in Soho! You can't pinpoint exactly why their coffee taste so good, it could be the precise technique for ‘texturising' milk, the fact that they use award winning beans from Square Mile Coffee Roasters or their attention to detail. You'll find it mad busy on the weekend but relatively quiet and relaxed mid week but people are happy to wait and the friendly Kiwi vibe will rub off on you. It's a haven in the hustle and bustle that is Soho and a good place for lunch, food is simple but interesting and you're bound to find some of your favourites on the menu. Not only do they support the local community by buying all their veg from Berwick Street Market but they also donate a percentage of their profits to charity.

Mmmm, my Flat White

Service

Not since I left NZ (with the recent exception of Italy) have I found coffee that comes anywhere near being as good as the Flat White I got from Flat White - which:A) makes me proud of the coffee in NZ andB) makes me wonder why I bother to go to chain coffee houses here? For any NZ'ers in desperate need of a good Flat White, make sure this place is on your list. For any UK'ers who don't know what good coffee is, head over and then make sure this place stays on your list.Apart from supporting small businesses and not the major chains (who have forgotten, or perhaps never knew what coffee, let alone good coffee, is), there is a pleasant atmos going on - the sort of place you can relax into the comfortable decor and imagine yourself in any coffee house in a far away land, if that's your thing.I was too stunned by how good my coffee was to eat, but the food I could see looked worthy.Lastly, and I can say this because I did this for 14 months of my life, a big shout out to the guys for putting that little bit of extra love into their coffees. By this I mean the patterns/squiggles/smudges/whatever you call them that greet you when you look into your latte. It's not hard to do but makes a world of difference. It's also fun to stare deep and long (well not too long, who wants to drink cold coffee!) into the pattern and see what your brian comes up with. I always find animals. Swans, clams and the odd phoenix so far! Go figure.Enjoy! Oh, and spread the word!

Best coffee in London. They use Mounmouth beans but their grind and tampering is perfect. They've also mastered the leafy latte art patterns, which is pretty cool. Small place, but nicely decorated and pretty cool inside.4 thumbs up.

Great coffee at a price

The coffee's good, at least best I found in the surrounding area, and you get pretty patterns in the froth. Downside is it's really slow, they make you wait for their art, in the summer (when we have them) it gets too hot to sit inside. If you've the time you can buy fish and chips 2 shops up, order a coffee and sit outside on the bench, eating your F&C and see how long it takes someone to go in and order cod and small chips.

Wonderful coffee! Best in London in my experience. I like Monmouth alot, they're fantastic, but they don't use soya milk (and I know they have their reasons) and Flat White too. So I can have white coffees there when I feel like a change from an americano/espresso. Such a relief to find after all the horrible chains. The staff have passion for what they do and do it really well. It's a really nice place to go with friends or a book although it can get really busy. The food isn't bad either. They do a ciabatta sandwich with pumpkin and feta which I would recommend. Last time I was there I took a bunch of cards to pass on to friends and none have been disappointed yet. I also bring all my visitors who are always impressed.

..in soho? ProbablyThey do make exceedingly good coffee (a bit like Mr Kipling and his cakes). Don't think they're up to Monmouth level, but very good indeed. My friend Thayer was also particularly keen on the little Rosetta mark they make on the froth, much to the bemusement of the barrista.Definitely a good place to rest your feet and recharge. The only complaint I have is on the stools inside that are too low and too narrow. How's a man supposed to sit on them? I guess they'd rather you picked up some great coffee and left. So my tip would be to grab the bench and generously offer the stool to your company.

Best coffee in London

Service

London is known for sh*t coffee so Flat White is real godsend. They use Monmouth coffee I understand. The food (bagels, rolls, cake etc.) isn't quite as good as the coffee, but is decent nonetheless. The staff are quite friendly, which makes a change for this part of town. The ambience and decor veers towards theme pub Kiwiana.

Best Coffee in the West End and Beyond!

Service

Quality

Value

Let's face it, London is not renowned for its great coffee. But that looks set to change with the opening of a little café called Flat White Espresso Bar. A flat white is a style of coffee popular in Australia and New Zealand and you can now sample a perfect example deep in the heart of London's West End, just up from the little Berwick Street Market.Flat White is just a small, unpretentious place. The owners are very friendly and are always busy making their excellent coffee topped with 'latte art'. This café serves up not only beautiful looking and tasting coffee, but also has a range of freshly made sandwiches and enough tempting treats to keep everyone happy, including home-made Anzac biscuits, and colourfully iced cup cakes. If you can find a better coffee in London I'd like to hear about it!

Best coffee in London?

Service

Quality

The best, without a doubt, coffee in Soho, if not all of London.Owned and run by Aussies and New Zealanders, Flat White is definately my favourite place to get coffee from in Soho. The staff are friendly, the coffee is good, and it's a lovely place to sit down with a book on a morning.Definately highly recommended for anyone who wants to give their legs a break from walking around Soho...
