Atlantis Rugs has been born of a business that has been running for 15 years. The business originally started as a wholesaler, supplying big retailers in Germany, France and Switzerland. The company then looked to go online in the last few years as we realised that we could deliver an engaging and exciting customer proposition, delivering fantastic rugs direct to your door.

Many people ask us why we can offer such fantastic rugs at the prices that you see on our site. The best way to explain this is to talk about how we get such a great selection of rugs.

Getting rugs direct from the source

Our network consists of hundreds of contacts across the Middle East and Asia who have relationships with the rugmakers themselves. When they have completed a project our buyers get them directly from the makers and these are then stored in our depot. During this stage, we always ensure that every rug maker gets a fair price for the excellent levels of craftmanship that they have shown in the creation of these rugs.

A lot of these rugs are new, but in some cases the rugs might have been worn or damaged, so we go through a process of washing, cleaning and repairing the rugs in our warehouse. The warehouse we have is over eight thousand square metres and in some cases this repair and wear process can take a whole week to ensure that the rug is in the condition that we believe you want. In some instances we establish the rug is beyond the high standards we set, we dispose of them straight away.

On a monthly basis we ship these rugs over to localised warehouses, and they are immediately put on the site for sale. Because we cut out all the middle men, and we sell online so our overheads are not as high as they would be if we had a whole network stores, we are able to offer up to an 80% discount on what you would normally pay for these great pieces of art.

In addition, because we do not have big stores or expensive rents, we look to past these savings to you. As a result, we are able to give you this commitment, and if you feel that this is ever not true, then please contact us and we will be happy to match the price that you find for a rug that is similar to one that we have on this site.

2. Every rug we sell is authentic
We hate it when we see businesses trying to sell things to customers under false pretences. We give you all the information that you need to make an informed purchase decision for each rug. We have also created a Certification system for authenticity, and when we send you a rug, you will receive this certificate. This is our seal approval, and confirms that the rug has gone through the channels that we discuss in the 'About us' section.
