Hitchin is a town in Hertfordshire in the South of England. Traditionally a market town, Hitchin has a history that dates back as far as 1086 when it was recorded in the Domesday Book. It later became an important staging post for London coaches and trade increased in Hitchin as a result of this. Modern Hitchin has been transformed with emergence of railways and more recently motorways making it an important commuter town with a lively center that has a host of pubs, restaurants and nightclub along with two popular theatres.
