Aberdeen is Scotland's third largest city and the county city of Aberdeenshire. Known as the 'Oil Capital Of Europe' because of its links and proximity to the North Sea oil industry, Aberdeen is also often referred to as 'The Granite City' due to that stone being used for much of the building and civil engineering in the city. Its city centre is a bustling and vibrant place with the mile long Union Street hosting all the big high street names and six indoor malls including Academy, St Nicholas and Bon Acord giving the shopper plenty of options. Aberdeen also has a wide range of historical and cultural attractions including His Majestys Theatre, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Aberdeen Maritime Museum and The Gordon Highlanders Museum.
