Hartlepool is a coastal town and port in Cleveland in the North East of England, close to Middlesbrough and Stockton On Tees. Situated north of the Tees Estuary, Hartlepool is a town with a strong maritime heritage which is perhaps best reflected by the towns Maritime Experience which gives an insight into the seafaring history of the town. The town's marina has undergone a multi million pound redevelopment in recent years and now boasts a smart waterfront with stylish restaurants, shops and bars as well as the all important berths for boats, yachts and other marine craft.
Hartlepool's centre, although compact has excellent shopping facilites in the modernised Middleton Grange Shopping Centre as well as independent shops throughout the town.
