A popular seaside resort in County Down in Northern Ireland, Bangor has been a choice destination for tourists in Northern Ireland since the mid 1800's when its popularity increased due to its transformation from an industrial town to a resort and the opening of the railway line from Belfast.
Modern Bangor is host to a range of attractions including Bangor Abbey, Ward Park, Pickie Fun Park and The Somme Heritage Centre which provides displays and information on the entire Irish contribution to the First World War.
