The Goat Hotel has been personally run by Richard and Alyson for the past twenty years and has a reputation for the best food and well kept real ales. Originally built as a coaching inn during the 17th century, there is a long history of hospitality.
Llanfair Caereinion located in the Banwy Valley, Montgomeryshire, is one of the smallest towns in the county of Powys. The town is built upon the site of an old Roman fort. In the towns heyday almost 3,000 people lived here in the mid 19th century when the woollen industry was at its peak. The population has since declined to just below 2000 and agriculture is now one of the mainstays of the local economy.

Located within a 5 minute walk from the hotel is the Welshpool and Llanfair steam railway. Also 9 miles to the east, is Powis Castle. Renowned for its world famous gardens with Italianate terraces and museum with fine art and treasures run by the National Trust.
