Perth

Perth is a city in Perthshire in Scotland that is situated roughly 22 miles from Dundee and 43 miles north of Edinburgh. A historic city that stands on the banks of the mighty River Tay, Perth is a very popular tourist destination with much to see within the city and in the area that surrounds it. Known as 'The Fair City' and 'St Johns Town' (which would seem to be where the name for the city's football team St Johnstone FC comes from), Perth boasts a range of attractions that perfectly portray the stunning architecture and heritage of the city. One of Perth's most popular attractions is Scone Palace, which is situated just outside the city. This majestic and historic house dates back to 1808 and is a recasting of a 16th century palace built on the former site of a Middle Ages abbey and The Stone Of Destiny which was the crowning place of Scottish kings. These days it is open to the general public and houses a superb collection of antiques, paintings and rare artifacts.
