ASA are a professional asbestos services consultancy who provide a range of asbestos related services to the commercial, industrial and Public sectors. We operate throught the whole of the United Kingdom & NI. We always endeavour to be as competitive as possible when preparing quotes for clients and are never knowingly beaten on price. We aim to give a high class service at the lowest possible cost and to make survey reports as understandable, comprehensive and informative as possible. All our surveyors hold the P402 certificate as a minimum and all surveys are conducted in accordance with MDHS 100 and also incorporate the advice and guidance within the ACOP L127. All samples that are taken by our surveyors are analysed by UKAS accredited laboratories. We are registered carriers of controlled waste for the whole UK (Sepa & D.0.E for NI).
All our surveys are tailored to meet the individual requirements of the client. There are 3 main types of asbestos survey, which are listed below. Occasionally a survey may include 2 different types on the same building, this could be when a particular part of a building is to be refurbished or demolished (Type 3 will be required) and the rest of the property is to remain but still requires a survey (This part of the building would be subjected to a type 1 or type 2 survey). Type 1 Asbestos Survey: A visual and presumptive survey where no samples are taken for analysis. This survey is usually a forerunner to a sampling survey (Type 2 or 3) Type 2 Survey: In this survey all reasonably accessible areas are checked for asbestos containing materials and representative samples are taken to a UKAS accredited laboratory for analysis. A type 2 survey gives positive identification as to the content of particular material regarding asbestos. Type 3 Survey: An extension of a type 2 survey this survey is fully intrusive and all areas such as sealed voids and cavities are inspected. A type 3 survey is only usually commissioned prior to major refurbishment or demolition. On completion of any survey the client is provided with the following: * A comprehensive, detailed report highlighting the presence (or not) of any asbestos containing materials that were discovered (or presumed to exist) during the course of the survey in the areas that were accessible. * An asbestos register that can be used to identify the areas, monitor the condition and up-date the action plan on any asbestos containing materials that were found or presumed to exist. * Individual assessments and recommendations for each item/area of asbestos that are identified. * Drawings, Photographs and plans of areas/items that are sampled (or where presumptions are made) to aid identification and location trace ability. * Impartial advice on the action & treatment of the asbestos containing materials that are found. * Advice on periodic inspections and how to keep the register up-to-date. * A laboratory analysis Data Sheet showing the results of all samples that are taken (Type 2 & 3 only). The surveys that ASA conduct can provide the basis for your management plan to satisfy your legal obligations as the duty holder under regulation 4 of the "Control Of Asbestos At Work Regulations 2002.
