Dumfriesshire is county in Southern Scotland. It is bordered by the Scottish counties of Kirkcudbrightshire, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Peeblesshire, Selkirkshire, Roxburghshire and the English county of Cumbria. Its main towns and cities include Dumfries, Gretna, Langholm, Annan, Canonbie, Lockerbie, Moffat, Sanquhar and Thornhill.
