Very Happy Boxer

We spent months and months looking for the right kennels. For the first time in 5 years we were going to put our boxer dog in for boarding for 6 days, The staff were extremely helpful, especially when we visited the kennels. They were so polite on the phone. They sent us pictures of our dog on FB. And when we came to collect him he was actually upset he didn't want to leave. Very good experience, especially for anxious pet owners.

I have worked at these kennels. and will continue to take my dog there for boarding when i go away. The staff look and treat all animals with care. i've seen this for myself. they all get equal attention and every dog will be taken out for exercise every day. if reading these comments has put you off i would recommend you at least go and have a look around for yourself before you make any decisions. I think its worth the money.

Second to none quality of service!

After reading the reviews I felt I simply had to add my own experience with Cross Green. I have boarded my dog here many a time as have a vast number of my friends and family. The staff are extremely helpful and polite, it is clear to see they all love working with animals. It is made very clear that you are always welcome to view the establishment without a prior appointment - unlike other kennels I have visited. Our pets have always been treated on an individual basis as to their diet and exercise requirements. What a shame some disgruntled people wish to put down such an animal orientated place. I will continue to board here based on such value for money and great experiences for my pets!

My two cats stay here at least twice a year for two weeks at a time. They are always looked after well and from the cries and screams when I collect them, dont want to come home. They insist you be shown round when you first use them and this shows to me that they are open about their business.

Burns on dog

My dog came back from here with burns underneath him from the disinfectant they used to clean the kennels, when I told them they said I should have asked for a mild cleaner to be used I would have thought that was something they would do anyway! They refused to pay any of the vets bill.

Very Happy Pets

We have boarded our cats and dogs here this year, they're not the easiest of animals to care for - our 22year old cat is blind and one of our dogs is a rescue with some hang ups but Cross Green do an excellent job. Of all the local kennels I visited they were the most helpful and welcomed us just dropping in to check them out without prior notice. We shall continue to use them with confidence.

I worked for this kennels and i would recommend not using them for these reasons: 1.In my time at the kennels they did not walk the dogs. 2.We were not allowed to touch, fuss or comfort the dogs but we had to ignore them and quickly clean kennels and then leave in the shortest time so "not to stress them out". Most of them were so lonely in their cement cells that they were desperate for attention. 3. The kennel owners have a extremely high turnover of staff, many of which do not get paid and get sacked after a few weeks. This is when new staff are employed to fill the places. 4.They make up lies about why they sack their staff but really they are trying to save themselves money. 5. Dogs were given inadequate bedding. A small square piece of fleece in a plastic bed is all they get. 6.Dogs were wiped down with wipes just before they are reunited with owners to portray the image that they were groomed and clean. 7.The owners owned many dogs of their own, arond 13 when i was there, all in kennels which were squalid. I never saw them walked or paid any attention. 8.One dog had been in there for 6 months and because he whined constantly because he was so alone and bored they put him in the kennel furthest away from the office away from any other dogs or company. He had no toys, or treats. Just a plastic bed in a cement cell. I found the owners rude, unreasonable and cruel. Please use any kennel other than this, as they really don't look after the dogs as well as you think they do. Out of sight out of mind seems to be their policy.

do not board your dog at these kennels

i would strongly advise against anyone using these kennels, my dog was due to stay here while we went on holiday, approx 24 hours before we were due to leave he became seriously ill, we took him to the vet who admitted him into the hospital straigtaway. i advised crossgreen that he was seriously ill and wouldnt be able to stay there as he was too sick. that was in may 2007, they have since billed me for the whole duration of the stay, when he was too sick to board. i have explained that he was ill and unable to board but they dont care, they just want their money, i understand i would lose my deposit but they want to charge the whole cost. they are not the kind and considerate boarding kennels they make out to be, they couldnt even get my dogs name right after correcting the staff several times. i asked to speak to the manager about the situation but she refused. i have since received a letter of which im being charged £40 for, which is supposedly come from a collection agency, the letter has lots of spelling mistakes and doesnt look professional at all, yet they have the nerve to charge me £40 for writing it. i am disgusted about the way myself and my dogs have been treated and strongly advise anyone to stay awat from these kennels.
