What do we do?
We specialize in printing your favourite photo onto canvas and then we hand-stretch it over a laminated pine frame so it becomes a high quality work of art ready to hang on your wall.
We produce canvas prints for the general public and we can offer a wholesale service for the trade, mostly professional photographers, who then wish to sell the canvas prints to their own clients.
You can provide us with your photos in the following ways;
(1) Deliver them by post (or by hand if you are local) on CD/DVD, memory stick or on the camera card,
(2) Email the image to us at vicky@fotos2art.co.uk
(3) Upload your image to our website. The web site is currently undergoing re-development but should be live by the second week in May. Please call us if you want an update,
(4) Let us have the hard copy of the photograph (or your work of art). We can scan it if is A4 or smaller. Then we can enlarge it and print it on canvas.
In all postal cases, please give us a call to discuss your requirements and to let us know you are sending us something.
The materials we use
We have spent years assessing the printers, inks and canvas materials available on the market and we constantly keep ourselves up-to-date to ensure our customers receive a really high quality product.
Printer and Inks; We use a top of the range Canon Large Format Printer using state of the art software which ensures no banding in the prints due to the printer being slow. The inks are genuine Canon Pigment based inks which will last for many years to come.
Canvas Materials; We currently offer two choices: The most popular is produced by Hahnemuhler (arguably one of the finest manufacturers of quality printing media in the world). The canvas is a 340gsm Goya canvas which gives vibrant colours with a satin finish. The texture lifts the print and seems to give an added dimesion to the image. It stretches really nicely and allows the end result to be excellent! The second choice is genuine Canon 100% Cotton matte canvas. Again, this is very high quality, less popular than the Goya canvas but still produces a superb result. We would, however, generally recommend the Goya canvas for smaller prints (below approx 12x14 inches since it stretches more readily giving nicer corners which makes a noticeable difference on smaller pictures).
Frames and stretcher bars; We use premium quality laminated pine stretcher bars for the majority of our canvases. These are 14mm thick and lend themselves very well to a gallery wrap for modern homes. After-all, you do not want to be bumping into a picture that sticks out from the wall every day! However, for a more traditional deeper gallery wrap (perhaps for people with bigger rooms, offices, hall ways etc) we can block-mount the canvas to give a 2 inch deep gallery wrap. We would always advise the customer whether or not this is suitable and would work well for their particular picture.
Why use us for your canvas prints?
A combination of;
Quality, Personal Service and Value for Money.
As a small family-run business, we care! We ensure that we have got time to produce the product you want. We are busy but we do not over-stretch ourselves by taking on too much, so we meet our deadlines! We talk to our customers, we offer advice and we suggest improvements to their ideas if we think it will help. We are not afraid to be honest of we do not think the quality of your original photo is good enough to be enlarged in the way you want and we will tell you if the wrap will cause some of the image to be lost around the sides.
Why choose a canvas print for your home or office or as a gift?
They make great gifts, either for that someone special on their birthday, anniversary, Mother's day, Father's day, Christmas etc. Or you could treat yourself. Its a guaranteed way to enhance your decor at home and to add your own style stamp to your home or office that will last for years to come.
