Amtech Ltd

Amtech (Automated Micro Technology Ltd.) was founded in 1989 as a PC industrial system integrator. After using a range of PC based motion control cards from other suppliers without much success, Amtech developed its own range of PC motion control cards. Primary for use in the Welding industry, this required a high level of protection from electrical noise. As Amtech's reputation grew as a reliable bespoke motion control system builder, Amtech decided to develop a motion control software system (GNC System 16) giving the customer a simple to use configurable motion control system to suit his exact needs. With Amtech's range of industrial PC motion control cards and configurable software, the system was soon being used in a much wider range of applications. With Amtech's easy to use software, applications could be configured simply and quickly, by a wide range of companies from the large OEM's (Original equipment manufacturers), to experienced system builders to end users. After ten years of successful sales of the ISA based boards, Amtech have used all their experience to produces a truly industrial PCI motion control card, with ground breaking features and price performance. All Amtech's products are designed and manufactured in the UK.

Generic Numeric Control (GNC),

as the name suggests is not an ordinary control system but a totally flexible system. GNC will allow you to build a controller to your own particular needs. The hardware is totally configurable. You can select stepper or servo control and the number of digital and analogue input/outputs. The software is Windows compatible and therefore suitable for a multi-tasking environment. The user interface can also be customised, allowing the naming of each axis, analogue inputs and outputs, even down to individual input/output signals. This can be represented on screen in over 48 different colours and three different sizes of font. The whole of the text which appears on the screen can be configured by you, for you. Allowing you to select as much information on screen as required, displaying information in a language your operator can understand, thus reducing the learning curve and increasing operator productivity.
