About Pil Sung Do

Pil Sung Do, meaning “The Art of Certain Victory" is a unique martial art based on modern scientific principles from human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, neurophysiology and biomechanics. Pil Sung Do's system is founded on the principles that its self defence techniques should generate maximum force, be practical and easy to learn, enhance the students health as they practice, as well as develop mental and physical conditioning. Pil Sung Do's natural easy to learn, sequential movements maximise your body's capabilities, but more importantly, they increase opportunities to enhance your health.

Training For Health

Pil Sung Do is a holistic health system, which every student is focused on living a more productive, healthier and longer life. Every student's training is tailored to meet their personal needs. Sports training has little to do with health and competitions over stress the body with high-intensity workouts that overtax the immune system and cause injuries.
At Pil Sung Do, individuals can train from the age of five and enjoy the benefits of fitness and longevity. Levels of intensity and frequency and duration are all systematically developed for wellness. The brain needs constant stimulation to remain in optimum health and to minimise degeneration. We have many exciting and enjoyable drills to develop individuals aerobically and anaerobically, both of which are equally important. Personal, Social and Character Development

Senior Master Nigel Glossop has been training in Martial Arts for over 30 years and has successfully run schools for over 20 years, in which time he has rewardingly taught thousands of men, women and children to defend themselves, gain confidence, and keep fit! Senior Master Glossop took up Martial Arts at the age of 7 when he enrolled in Wado Ryu Karate under the guidance of Robin Walker and Grandmaster Professor Tatsuo Suzuki (8th Dan). Four years later Master Glossop moved on to Jujitsu and Jujitsu Kobudo (weapons training). In 1987 Master Glossop started training with Grand Master Stephen Hammouda in Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Korean Kickboxing, Choi Kwang Do and Pil Sung Do.

My Son Connor and I joined Pil Sung Do in October 2009. Since joining Pil Sung Do I have enjoyed it every week and training has given Connor and I great confidence within ourselves plus I have also lost nearly 3 stone which is great!
