The Cliffe Hotel is conveniently placed ten minutes walk from the castle and shops, in a quiet location across the River Teme amongst fields and woodland. The historic town with its proud Norman Castle and large parish church has many fine examples of Tudor, Georgian and Victorian architecture.

Built in the 19th century and standing in its own extensive grounds, the Cliffe Hotel has a large car park. The hotel is ideally placed for walks in the Mortimer forest and fishing on the River Teme. Historical sites include Offa's Dyke, the Clee Hills and Wenlock Edge to the east. To the north are Stokesay Castle, Long Mynd and Caer Caradoc while to the south is the Black and White Village Trail in Herefordshire. Further afield are the county town of Shrewsbury and cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester, the Severn Valley Railway and World Heritage site of Ironbridge.
