At eat sleep live we only use reclaimed wood in the production of our handcrafted furniture. We source wood that has been reclaimed from demolished factories, schools, churches, homes and various other buildings, averaging from 100-300 years old, that would otherwise be burnt or land filled – see reclaimed wood Our goal is to continually create beautiful quality affordable reclaimed furniture whilst helping the environment while doing our bit to turn the tide on the ‘flat-pack’, standardized throw away furniture culture of today (no names mentioned!). We aim to meet the needs of clients who want their furniture to be individual and elegant in design, offering both functionality and durability. The right choice of furniture should last a lifetime, not a couple of years before it is again replaced. The exclusive Original and Qube designs meet this requirement in that they are ‘timeless’ pieces as opposed to designs that only ad-hear to ‘of the moment’ fashions and are literally made for life. Wherever possible we aim to maintain business practices consistent with the goals of helping to sustain our fragile environment for future generations, from the reclaimed wood we use to the recycled stationery and delivery blankets. We also aim to provide as much choice for our clients as possible, we really want you to feel like your almost building the furniture with us, that were working together to create your perfect environment, your perfect atmosphere!

You’re very welcome to come and say hello and see our furniture in the flesh. Please note: viewings are by appointment only and as it is a living showroom please respect some areas have a 'no-shoes' policy. Traditional and modern designs Most of our hand crafted furniture range is available in a choice of two distinctive designs. The ‘Original’ range is a concept incorporating traditional design with an up-to-date feel. The ‘Qube’ design exudes simplicity. The pieces are chunky with simple clean lines and a thoroughly modern feel. Both designs fit beautifully into any environment. Wide choice of finishes and colours All of our handcrafted furniture is available in the classic rustic or the smooth contemporary finish with a choice of natural light, medium stripped or dark rugger wax. For the more adventurous or to match existing furniture you can have your furniture supplied unwaxed but surface prepared and ready to colour yourself. Personal customer service We believe a personal customer service is the only way so you will be able to speak to a friendly human at every stage of your order and be kept updated at every stage. Why Reclaimed Wood?

At Eat Sleep Live we are doing our bit to conserve the environment as all the wood we use to craft our handmade furniture is reclaimed. This approach not only helps the environment but also enables us to produce beautiful pieces of furniture. Reclaimed wood is derived from trees that have grown and matured over hundreds of years, which, in turn, gives each piece individuality, character and beauty. As you will see, the strength and attractiveness of our furniture is borne out of the wood’s maturity which wouldn't even be achievable using virgin timbers. Reclaimed pine is also a world away from the new pine we all know today, it should almost be called something else so as to not to be related. It is much harder and each piece of wood has its own unique character and history embedded within it. Efficient use of timber and the minimization re-use and recycling of waste are key elements of sustainable wood use, but have received relatively little attention to date. The ongoing forest crisis, together with growing volumes of timber waste and increasing concerns over waste disposal, mean that wood waste is rapidly rising up the agenda. The ongoing forestry crisis and increasing amount of timber waste, coupled with increasing concerns over waste disposal all add to the strong argument for using reclaimed wood in furniture production. www.globaltrees.org estimate that less than 10% of wood waste is recycled and at least 3,000 tonnes of reusable timber from the demolition of old buildings is land filled or burnt every working day in the UK. Much of this wood could be re-used in a variety of ways including furniture production and the restoration of property. In a world which is very wasteful, it’s fantastic to be able to create beautiful pieces of furniture from what is all too often, a discarded material. So you might say we are a furniture specialist with an environmental policy.
