Hull is a city and major port on the North bank of the Humber Estuary on the East Coast of England.One of the main ports linking England with Holland and Belgium, Hull has a long maritime heritage and this is demonstrated at popular attractions such as the Maritime Museum, The Spurn Lightship and The Deep, a futuristic aquarium. The city centre itself has a compact yet comprehensive shopping area that supports all the major high street names and is also the focal point for the city's nightlife which again is in a compact area but offers an array of choices. Hull also has a popular university that is based slightly out of the city centre but helps to form a thriving and vibrant community around the Cottingham Road, Beverley Road and Newlands Avenue areas.
