Howard's Neutering Clinic is a small and friendly clinic offering a limited range of services for dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs.
Started in 2007 as an offshoot of EC & SM Howard, which was established in Norwich in 1956, Howard's Neutering Clinic is owned and run by Susan Howard B.Vet.Med. MRCVS, who qualified from London in 1978.
We provide a helpful and affordable service, offering the genuine commitment to animal welfare which has been our standard for the last 58 years.
Vaccinations against serious infectious diseases are available for dogs, cats and rabbits. Some of these diseases are less common than they used to be, thanks to vaccination, but they have not been eradicated and can still be a threat to an unvaccinated animal. The first vaccinations should be done before there is risk of exposure to infection and most will need yearly boosters. Contact us to discuss what is needed for your pet.
We can do vaccinations by appointment at the clinic or at your own home for an extra charge.
We can offer discounts for multiple vaccinations.
No-one likes to think about the end of their pet's life, but sadly, that time will come. It is the pet-owner's responsibility to decide when the quality of their pet's life has deteriorated to the point where the only kindness is to bring that life to an end.
Hopefully you will not make that decision alone but will have the support and advice of the pet's usual veterinary surgeon, who is the best person to assist you with this. If you need more help with the decision, we can arrange a consultation to discuss your options. You can change your mind up to the last moment.
What we can offer is:
• A separate appointment: you will not have to wait in a busy waiting room nor go out through it afterwards
• Time to go through the procedure without rushing
• The chance to have the pet put to sleep at home, avoiding the stress of transporting it
• The disposal of the body, if you do not wish to bury it, either by routine cremation or by separate cremation and return of the ashes, which we can help you arrange
We are willing to visit within a reasonable distance, we do not do this as an emergency service: the visit needs to be arranged, at the latest, by 10 am for a visit on the same day. We may be able to arrange an evening visit.
Please note, I reserve the right to refuse to put an animal to sleep if I believe it cannot be justified.
At Howard's Neutering Clinic we do our best to ensure that your pet gets the care it needs. As a limited service provider we do not provide a full veterinary service, we do not treat sick or injured animals, so we do not have the same level of services, staffing and facilities as a full-scale practice and can keep our prices lower to encourage owners to get basic preventative work done.
We do provide full 24 hour aftercare for our operation cases, included in the price of the operation. We are always happy to answer questions about our service.
