Birkenhead is a town on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside which is in the North West of England. Renowned as a shipbuilding town and port, Birkenhead retains some of its sea going heritage by being the location of the Birkenhead Ferry which sails to Dublin and Belfast and the Mersey Ferry that takes passengers to Liverpool .
