Swiss Cottage was built in 1866 and is an attractive, 4 Star Silver Award winning, busy but friendly traditional seaside accommodation, under the personal supervision of Keith & Christine Beckett, a home from home, where guests meet as strangers and leave as friends. We have the great privelage to be only one of a select few in Shanklin to be awarded a Silver Award for high qulality of accommodation, above average facilities provided and excellent customer service, above what is expected in a 4 Star establishment. Conveniently situated in a quiet road with its own off street parking. Swiss Cottage is within two minutes easy walk to all amenities Shanklin has to offer and is an ideal base for seeing the entire Island. We cater for Half Board and B & B and guests can enjoy their meals in our light and airy dining room. Make your selection from the daily menu, which includes traditional home cooked food using fresh local produce (when available) or maybe you would just like to relax and have a drink from our well stocked bar. Swiss Cottage has a range of en-suite rooms, including family, double, twin, we also offer single occupancy to take care of everyones needs. Internally, all our bedrooms have recently undergone modern refurbishment from decor to bedding and externally, the property has had a bright new face lift. All this just to make your stay a more pleasant experience. So come and enjoy our high standards of hospitality and service and relax in the comfortable and clean surroundings after a long days sightseeing. Bar Lounge Enjoy a relaxing drink during our lovely warm summer evenings in our comfortable bar lounge or our new decked patio area. There is a good selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks available at the bar. You can also order drinks before dinner to have with your evening meal. Children also have their own TV room with games/books and all the latest releases on DVD and Video's so they can get away from the parents for a while. We also have Sky in our main lounge for all those not so pleasent days & also Wi Fi in all the rooms. Dining room Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.00 a.m. Cereal, grapefruit segments, fruit and juices are available on a self-service basis. Our hearty full English breakfast, lighter options or kippers are cooked to order and accompanied by tea/coffee & toast as required to prepare you for the day ahead. Evening meal is served at 6.30p.m. There is a complete daily menu with a choice for each of three courses. Orders for the evening meal will be taken after breakfast to aid a prompt service for you. Children over 10 are well catered for with their own menu.
The en-suite rooms, two of which are on the ground floor, offer flexible accommodation. All rooms rooms have Digital Flat Screen TV/DVD players where you can watch over 100 channels or listen to some music on your CD/radio alarm clocks. You also have a range of complimentary beverages, mini fridge and a modern hair dryer in your room plus trouser press, ironing board and shoe polish equipment are on the landing for you to use. Double Room We are able to arrange accommodation to provide up to Five double rooms all with en-suite at any one time, depending on availability. Single / Twin Room There are three twin rooms on the first floor, one with bath/shower en-suite, the other with shower en-suite and the last one has the use of a private bathroom. All rooms are available for adult single occupancy, a minimal charge applies in high season only. Family Room There are two Family rooms that are arranged as follows; Ground Floor to accommodate two adults sharing an en suite double room and one or two children sleeping on a bunk beds within the same suite and the other family suite, which can accommodate two adults sharing an en-suite double room and up to two children sleeping on single beds in a separate room within the suite.
