Reflexology uses the feet [or hands] to treat the whole body. It's a therapeutic and relaxing foot massage, which aims to promote the body's powers of self-healing by increasing the circulation to all areas of the body. Every part of the body has a corresponding reflex area in the foot and these areas are worked by a form of compression massage, with the intention of restoring the balance and function of the body to normal. It has historical roots in China of 5000 years ago. What will it do for me? * reduce your stress and induce deep relaxation * improve your circulation * help to cleanse your body of toxins and impurities * balance your whole system, like a car having a tune-up * revitalise your energy * it can highlight a problem in your body areas or systems, which appear as energy blockages, which the therapist can then work to free up and rebalance, allowing your body to heal itself naturally What does Reflexology not do? It does not diagnose, as such. Doctors do that. It can sometimes take several sessions for feet to yield up their problems, depending on the presenting health of the individual.
Traditional massage treatments rely on the skill and strength of the therapist's hands to deliver relief to stressed muscles and joints. Treatments combining such massages with the use of hot stones add another dimension to the healing experience. The stones are actually volcanic basalt pebbles of varying sizes, tumbled smooth by thousands of years exposure to the free-flowing rivers in which they're found. Gently heated in water, they can either rest on your body to send warmth deep within or be used in the therapist's hands to soothe and work through muscle tension. What will it do for me? * Calm your nervous system, so reduce stress and induce deep relaxation * work on your tired and aching muscle tissue, releasing knots and tightness * improve your circulation * help to cleanse your body of toxins and impurities * revitalise your energy What kind of Hot Stone Massage can I have? * Hot Stone back, neck and shoulder massage - 45 minutes concentrating on the areas where we hold most tension * Hot Stone full-body massage - A 90-minute whole-body experience enhanced by the lingering effects of aromatherapy oils * Hot Stones with Reiki healing - The placing of hot stones on and around the body's energy centres, combined with a Reiki healing session Choose either a gentle, relaxing treatment, or one designed to energise and revitalise. Your therapist will discuss your needs with you before treatment begins. Not just a physical therapy, it also enhances mental well-being and helps ease the symptoms of tension, anxiety and depression.
