Initial Consultation
Initial Consultation
Each project starts with a free initial consultation (subject to location) to discuss in general what is required and to agree the extent of the potential works involved. We can then provide a design estimate. Designs start from £500 + VAT. The actual cost depends on the type of room, your brief and the total amount of work or number of rooms designed together. For example, a combined kitchen & dining room including structural changes with a new kitchen configuration will be more expensive than a guest bedroom.
Briefing
Once the scope of works has been agreed we can then arrange a detailed design briefing. This is usually combined with a survey, unless accurate scaled plans are available. As every project is individual with specific needs, we look at your home's strengths and weaknesses and listen to your ideas. Once fully briefed we create a design for you!
Concept Designs
We then present our solutions in a moodboard format. Usually with a floor-plan, showing the furniture and any bespoke or built-in pieces in position. If the designs are more complex we would also produce a 3D room illustration. Each aspect is fully explained and justified, as required and as appropriate. In addition we suggest the optimum materials and finishes used for each aspect, as well as the overall style and look to achieve the agreed brief. In addition there will be suggestions for window treatments, wall and floor coverings, lighting, art and accessories.
Estimating & Sourcing
Based on the concept designs and any additional requests, we can produce a comprehensive works specification list. To include product and accessory details with estimated costs and supplier details. These could then be sourced and purchased directly - if you prefer. This would incur a fee of 10% of the original design cost.
Additionally we would include any other details for us to order bespoke or special finish items such as furniture, wallpapers, fabrics and window treatments, flooring and light fittings etc. Plus general build or decorating works. Everything needed to fulfill the design concept. These initial estimates would be subject to the final specification and any site surveys required.
Project Management
Of course, we can supply any of the items specified on your behalf. Generally we obtain competative trade rates and discounts allowing us to buy at a lower than retail cost. Therefore our time to arrange and purchase is usually inclusive to the item and still at a competative rate, which of course makes things smoother for you with our expertise thrown in!
