Harlow is a town in Essex in the South East of England close to the border with Hertfordshire. Classed as a 'new town', Harlow was designed to relieve the over-population of London in post war years along with other new towns such as Stevenage and Basildon. Home to a large population of workers who commute into London to work, Harlow is also renowned as being a major centre for scientific research, only being second to Cambridge for density of such companies.
