Cumbria is a large county in the North West of England. It borders the English counties of Northumberland, Lancashire, North Yorkshire, County Durham and Dumfriesshire in Scotland. A largely rural area, Cumbria is famously the location of the Lake District, a very popular tourist destination. Its main towns and cities include Alston, Barrow-in-Furness, Kendal, Keswick, Kirkby Stephen, Carlisle, Cockermouth, Maryport, Penrith, Ravenglass, Whitehaven, Sedbergh and Workington.
