Darlington is a town in County Durham in the North East of England. Close to the River Tees and linked to nearby towns and cities such as Middlesbrough, Durham and Newcastle by the A66 and A1 roads, Darlington is also on the main East Coast railway line and a stones throw from Durham Tees Valley Airport. A town with a strong railway heritage, Darlington was the location of the world's first-ever passenger rail journey and became an important railway manufacturing centre. Modern day Darlington is a thriving town with a comprehensive town centre shopping area and out of town shopping on the towns Morton Park area.
