The Bonny Moorhen in Stanhope prides itself on it's warm welcome and friendly atmosphere, whether you're here for your regular evening pint, if you're just dropping by for a spot of home cooked food, or if you choose to stay with us for a while whilst you're visiting the area or cycling through it, we believe the people make the pub and we want to welcome you!
We're a bustling pub in the centre of Stanhope, rapidly gaining in popularity among the cycling fraternity. For those who are taken to travelling by two wheels, secure lock up is available and we also have washing & drying facilities. The 'Hen has newly refurbished accommodation which means we can now take groups of up to 15.
For those in search of reasonably priced home cooked food, you won't be disappointed. Pizzas and snack foods are available all day, but full evening meals on Saturday and Sunday must be booked. At busy times of the year, it's probably best to give us a quick call to enquire about food.
We have a lovely beer garden out the back away from the main road, so it's safe for children under supervision and well behaved dogs and their owners ;-) You'll be hard pushed to find a seat out there when the sun comes out!

We are directly on the route of the Coast to Coast bike ride and we're fully equipped for cyclists. We know what it's like to get caught in the rain and we can arrange laundry facilities on request. There's also space for drying your gear and a secure lock up for your bikes, so you can relax in peace after a long day, put your feet up and get warm and toasty before you hit the hay in one of our newly refurbished rooms and cosy beds.
There's a co-operative shop just a few doors down from The Bonny Moorhen that sells just about anything, just in case you need to restock on your essentials.
Stanhope also has an indian restaurant, a chinese takeaway and chippy which we're happy to direct you to should you wish us to.
