Alderney Gardens was established in 1974 by Michael O'Gorman, who moved to the island in 1970 from the south of England, where he studied Horticulture, Landscape Gardening and Agriculture.
Simon O'Gorman studied horticulture at Usk, South Wales and Landscape Management and Agriculture at Sparsholt College, Winchester, completing his studies with Landscape Design under John Brookes (International Landscape Designer) at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Over the past 25 years, Alderney Gardens have developed a reputation for high standards of all aspects of landscaping, specialising in maritime gardening.
