About Weston-Super-Mare

Weston-Super-Mare

Weston-Super-Mare is a popular seaside resort in the South West of England. As with many seaside resorts, Weston-Super-Mare saw lots of growth in the 1800's with the building of its spa and the introduction of railways to the area. Further development took place with the construction of a Seafront Improvement Scene which gave Weston-Super-Mare a two mile long promenade and sea walls along with two new piers. Modern day Weston-Super-Mare remains a popular holiday desination with easy access from the M5 motorway and good rail links. The towns historic Grand Pier was sadly hit by a large fire in 2008 but some of the pier remains open during the non-Winter months.
