The Sulis Ensemble aims to help bring beautiful chamber music back to the bars, local venues and 'salons' of Bath. Our brand of chamber music is not the impersonal kind, usually experienced in concert halls where audiences sit in rows, clutching a programme and a plastic cup of wine. We prefer much more sociable events – music played by friends for friends. Our audiences and performers may not be the rich aristocrats* whom chamber music was originally created for, but we see no reason why we shouldn’t all still enjoy it with the same conviviality that they did!
