  8 long months ago today, I paid Hayley Brierley-Roberts the sum of £630 (at a reduced rate) to proof edit my book’s manuscript which in her own words should have not taken more than 20 days. Since November 2010 and after a countless stream of excuses I still have not seen a word of the promised work, or in fact, the money I asked be refunded for unfulfilled contract. The unbearable part of this sad story is that, in the meantime, I have lost a one-in-a-life-time opportunity to present my edited manuscript to a well-known publisher due to Hayley’s unprofessional conduct by not completing the editing of my book by January 2011 as earnestly pledged by her. I have given Hayley ample opportunities to come clean and face up to her professional responsibility with a customer that deposited trust, time and money in her professionalism and human decency which she has not shown thus far by replying to my countless emails. I hold no grudge on Miss Brierley-Roberts or would go as far as to characterize her conduct dishonest and fraudulent, but her professionalism leaves much to be desire. In June 2011 she told me she could do the work by the end of June (6 months after she’s supposed to have done it) or return my money. I opted for the latter with no signs to this day of my money or an explanation. It burdens me to go to the police with this matter because no one should go to this extreme to seek justice (recover money) from someone who advertise these type of services on internet without having to face up to the trust people deposit on her.
